Abstract
Okullarda okul yöneticilerinin en büyük ve en önemli görevleri, okulun hedefleri doğrultusunda verimli ve etkili yol alabilmesini sağlayarak, okula ait her bir paydaşı sağlıklı yönetmektir. Aynı zamanda, okul yöneticilerinin sorumlulukları ve yetkileri okul için okul yöneticilerinin ne kadar önemli olduğunu göstermektedir. Okul yönetiminin literatürde farklı tanımları okul yöneticilerine çeşitli sorumluluk ve yetkiler yüklemiştir. Bu tanımlar okul yönetiminin önem ve değerini arttırmaktadır. Okul yöneticilerinin okulun bütün paydaşlarını kurumun tüm hedeflerine göre, harakete geçirmeleri için, davranış bilimleri ve eğitim yönetimleri konusunda kendini geliştirmesi gerekmektedir. Bu yöntemleri uygulayan ve problemleri deneme yanılma yöntemi ile değil bilim yolu ile çözmeye çalışan okul yöneticileri kurumda oluşabilecek en iyi ve en verimli eğitim ortamının mimarıdır.Ancak bazı durumlarda deneyim ve tecrübenin getirileri olduğu inkar edilemeyecek bir gerçektir.Deneyim ve tecrübe ile bilimin yolunu birleştirerek oluşturulan okul ortamlarında okul yönetimi de daha etkili çalışabilecek ve okula değer katacaktır.Bu araştırmada;Türkiye’de okullarda yönetici seçimi ve yöneticiliğin geliştirilmesi ile ilgili uygulamaların zaman içinde çeşitlilik göstermiş olduğu fakat bu farklılıkların ciddi bir gelişim yansıtmadığı ve mevcut bir politikadan bahsedilmediği,bu konudaki politikaların sık sık değişikliğe uğradığı görülmektedir. Farkları ve ortak noktaları anlayabilmek için bazı ülkelerde okul yöneticisi seçimi ve geliştirilmesi ile ilgili araştırma yapılmış ve incelenmiştir.

School administrators who apply these methods and try to solve problems through science, not by trial and error, are the architects of the best and most efficient educational environment that can be created in the institution.
